Program Benefits
The GMU MEC Entrepreneurial Step Up Program™ is a unique two track program designed to help senior executives of early stage companies effectively manage and grow their respective companies. Senior executives accepted in the new program will participate in two six month sessions which integrate class lectures covering senior entrepreneurial executive management tools and techniques, with one-on-one monthly mentor sessions providing customized advisory services to assist their respective companies in addressing issues and meeting growth targets.
The GMU MEC Entrepreneurial Step Up Program™ offers participants a number of benefits:
- Integrates entrepreneurial management classroom sessions with one-on-one sessions working with an experienced Executive Mentor addressing real issues facing the executive's organization
- Offers participants a highly structured, fully integrated program with complementary classroom lectures, case studies, roundtable discussions and guest speakers structured to reinforce core entrepreneurial management skills and help executives create a management 'toolkit'
- Requires a minimal time commitment by executives for attending classroom sessions and Executive Mentor meetings. Classroom sessions meet bi-weekly and Executive Mentor meetings are held once a month. While readings and case study assignments will demand a time commitment from participants, these can be completed as time permits by the executive participants
- Provides expanded networking and new business connections for participants through interactions with the Step Up Program Executive Mentors, guest speakers and other executive participants.
- Offers a cost effective tuition structure with course fees for the Phase I and II programs at $3,000 per program and an Equity Warrant Grant to GMU MEC for all participants accepted into the Phase II program. These fees cover all classroom activities, as well as the one-on-one support provided by the assigned Step Up Program Executive Mentor during each phase of the program.
