Susan Henson is the Regional Manager for Mason Enterprise Center Leesburg/Loudoun County in Leesburg, Virginia. In Henson’s role with the MEC Leesburg/Loudoun County she administers all operations, planning, community outreach, marketing, client support and staff supervision for this newest MEC location. This includes promoting the benefits of the incubator to the business community and sharing the facility with potential clients. As part of a dynamic team, Susan represents and oversees all program delivery in support of business assistance services available through the Mason Enterprise Center to the businesses based in Leesburg and Loudoun County.

Henson brings to the MEC over twenty years of experience in tactical business advising, innovative program development, training, human resources, customer service, operations, retail management and apparel manufacturing. She grew up in Blacksburg, Virginia and is an alumnus of Virginia Tech University, in Blacksburg, Virginia for both her M.S. and B.S. degrees.

Susan returned to Virginia after 20 years in Missouri where she held various public and private sector positions. Her most current role was a regional position with the University of Missouri, Small Business and Technology Development Centers in Kansas City. By developing and coordinating impactful training programs, identifying high potential clients and providing targeted coaching she consistently delivered top results in business starts in the state.

On the faculty at the University of Missouri in Columbia for ten years as the Coordinator of MO-TAC (Missouri Textile & Apparel Center) she developed a statewide program and association serving the business and industry needs of the textile and apparel sector. Susan’s career has also included positions with Best Buy Stores, with Saks Fifth Avenue, as well as Director of Operations for a non-profit educational services company.

As a results-oriented leader, Susan delivers outcomes-based programs and is an empowering people-developer able to effectively relate to diverse groups. Henson offers clients valuable marketing solutions, operational and expansion tactics and links them to broad-based resources to positively impact their business success.

These accomplishments have led to the receipt of awards including “Missouri Chamber of Commerce & Industry Award”, and the University of Missouri’s “Executive Vice President’s Award for Outstanding Outreach Programming”, and “Provost’s Award for Creative Extension Programming.”
